Sing, smile and socialise
Sing, smile and socialise

We are a newly-formed choir with 70 members, both ladies and gents, who meet each week to sing, smile and socialise.
Our choir is a fun activity - no need to read music or have any previous experience, but we attempt to do nice simple arrangements in three groups (Soprano, Alto and Baritone).
We do mainly popular music most people know (e.g. Beatles, 60s, 70s, 80s), some classic songs, and some carol singing at Christmas.

We are based in Thelwall, near Warrington, Cheshire.
We rehearse at the Holyrood Nursery building (formerly the Quays Community Centre), Thelwall New Road. WA4 2XT.
We meet every Thursday, 7.00 - 8.30 p.m
Why not join us? Don't be shy - everyone can sing (YES YOU CAN!)
The newly-formed Thelwall Community Choir held their debut Christmas Concert at Thelwall Parish Hall on Friday 5th December. The 60 strong choir, who only came together in September, performed a first half selection of songs ranging from 60s pop to classic numbers from the 40s followed by a second half of Christmas delights for the packed house. Led by Musical Director Graham Skelland, this group of singers, many of whom had never performed before, impressed their audience with their wonderful sound, wide range of material, and their infectious enthusiasm.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and through the ticket sales and a huge raffle, they were able to raise an incredible £1150 for Music and Memory dementia support in Warrington. The progress of this local group of people in just three months has been astounding, and they look forward to continuing to spread the joy of singing and raising funds for community charities in the future.
